Fire Extinguisher

Section 2.5.3a of the Australian Standard, AS1940-2004, states: At least one portable fire extinguisher, having a suitable rating for use with the range of materials being kept, shall be readily accessible and adjacent to the minor storage.

AS1940-2004 requires that fire extinguishers are adjacent to all flammable goods storage cabinets.

Class A – Paper, textiles, wood, most plastics and rubber
Class B – Flammable liquids
Class E – Electrically energised equipment
